The draw for the Upper Austria Ladies Linz remains firmly in the hands of LINZ AG! The official draw ceremony for the 34th edition of the Linz women's tennis classic will take place on Sunday 26 January at 1 pm in the LINZ AG waste disposal depot. This will be the tenth year that the first official side event of the tournament has been organised in cooperation with the multi-utility provider.
"The draws with LINZ AG have now achieved legendary status, causing a furore in tournaments around the world. The annually changing, spectacular LINZ AG locations and the ever new and creative draw ideas are extremely popular with both the players and the official representatives of the World Women's Tennis Association (WTA). LINZ AG, with its various services for the residents of Linz and a further 117 municipalities in Upper Austria, is proving to be the perfect partner in this regard, as it clearly has an almost limitless reservoir of unusual locations and therefore unique realisation options," says tournament director Sandra Reichel enthusiastically about the collaboration.
"The Linz tennis event impresses with top performances from the top female players and ongoing development at the same time. LINZ AG has been supporting the world-class tennis tournament, which now also scores points for its commitment to local young female tennis players and sustainability, for many years. We are delighted to be able to showcase the versatility of LINZ AG as part of the draw. This year, the location chosen is our waste disposal fleet hall - and thus a pillar of the circular economy. A topic that is very important to LINZ AG. One of the highlights on site will be a modern, fully electric waste paper collection vehicle. I hope that our fleet of vehicles will bring the players luck of the draw and, together with the tennis fans, including many of our customers and employees, I am looking forward to spectacular rallies in Linz," explains LINZ AG CEO DI Erich Haider, MBA.
The partnership with LINZ AG goes far beyond the cooperation around the official draw. "LINZ AG is one of the main pillars of the Upper Austria Ladies Linz. I would like to express my sincere thanks for their long-standing commitment, which has contributed significantly to the continued existence of the tournament and, most recently, to its upgrading to WTA 500 level. LINZ AG has played a key role in shaping the history of tennis in Linz, Upper Austria and Austria and thus forms the foundation for the beacon of women's sport that radiates far beyond the borders of Linz," adds Sandra Reichel.
