Another award for the Upper Austria Ladies Linz

Green Events Austria has announced this year's award winners as part of the "sustainable winning" competition.

The Upper Austria Ladies Linz tennis tournament has been honoured as the winning project in the sports events category.

In the explanatory statement, reference was made to the role model effect for the sports industry and the creative and innovative implementation of the sustainable measures at the event, which was organised as a WTA 500 tournament for the first time at the beginning of the year.

A total of 127 events from the fields of sport, culture and festivals took part in the competition.

Green Events Austria is a network supported by the Federal Ministry for the Environment and the Ministry for Arts, Culture and Sport.

The awards were presented at a ceremony organised by Federal Environment Minister Leonore Gewessler and Vice-Chancellor Werner Kogler.

The Upper Austria Ladies Linz is the most important women's sporting event in Austria, which, in addition to world-class women's tennis, is thematically based on a 4-pillar strategy with the areas of women's promotion, young talent, inclusion and sustainability. The tournament has been certified as a Green Event for two years and has already received several international awards in the past year.

The next Upper Austria Ladies Linz will be held from 26.01.2025 to 02.02.2025 at the Design Center Linz.
