A dream came true for Sinja Kraus this Friday at 4pm. The 19-year-old received a wildcard for the main draw at the 31st edition of the WTA tournament "Upper Austria Ladies Linz" from tournament director Sandra Reichel. The Vienna native has attracted attention with some great successes in 2021, such as her triumph at the 15,000-dollar tournament in Cairo in January and her victories over top domestic players.
Sinja Kraus celebrated her debut in the Austrian Fed Cup team two years ago. "It's very important to me to give young players a chance, and Sinja has earned it with her strong performances," said Sandra Reichel. Austria's women's tennis is now represented by two players at the women's tennis classic in Linz (6 to 12 November in the TipsArena), as 25-year-old Julia Grabher from Vorarlberg had already received a wild card before Sinja Kraus.
