Former Austrian number one Barbara Haas becomes the voice of Upper Austria Ladies Linz

She knows the centre court of the Upper Austria Ladies Linz very well - now she's returning in a new role! From 26 January to 2 February 2025, former Austrian number one Barbara "Babsi" Haas will be leading the programme at Austria's biggest women's sporting event for the first time as an indoor presenter, lending her voice to the women's tennis classic in Linz. Together with ORF presenter Karina Toth, who will join the presenting team on the final weekend, and Sky commentator Marcel Meinert, the 28-year-old will accompany the action on centre court and provide viewers with all the important information about the event every day.

The former Austrian Billie Jean King Cup playern knows the event in Donaustadt like the back of her hand. "I used to live in Linz and it was only two minutes from my flat to the hall. It was always something very special to play at home in front of family and friends. I always particularly enjoyed the family atmosphere. And that hasn't changed to this day. I'm really looking forward to returning in a new role," says Haas, who competed at Upper Austria Ladies Linz a total of seven times between 2015 and 2023.

Last summer, Haas celebrated her debut as a tennis commentator and accompanied the broadcasts of the US Open in New York for Joyn. "I really enjoyed that. Now I'm looking forward to my next job in front of a large audience and, above all, to interacting directly with the fans," says Haas, full of anticipation.
