"I'm really looking forward to playing the Upper Austria Ladies Linz for the very first time. I've heard so many great things about the tournament and I'm very excited to be involved," says the 28-year-old, who is currently ranked 20th in the world and reached the final of the French Open at Roland Garros in 2023. In the same year, she also made it to the semi-finals at the US Open. It was the season in which the Czech high-class technician from Olomouc made her absolute breakthrough and played her way into the world's top 10. Muchova is regarded as one of the most versatile players on the tour. Fast surfaces like those in Linz suit her game, she also regularly seeks out the net and has outstanding footwork.

Muchova had to have wrist surgery after the 2023 US Open, took a break for more than six months, but then made a phenomenal comeback last summer! Not only did she reach the semi-finals of the US Open for the second time in a row, she also marched all the way to the final in Beijing and Palermo. After great performances at the United Cup, where she also defeated Wimbledon finalist Jasmine Paolini, she was on the brink of defeat against former world number one Naomi Osaka at the Australian Open a fortnight ago. In the end, she was narrowly beaten in the second round. She will now come to the Danube well rested and hunt for tournament victory at the Design Centre.
