Four years after winning the Linz tournament, the US Open dream came true: Aryna "Tiger" Sabalenka wins final against Jessica Pegula

One Linz winner follows another.

Last year, Coco Gauff, who won the Upper Austria Ladies Linz as a 15-year-old teenager in 2019, celebrated a home victory at the US Open.

In the final, the US player had beaten Aryna Sabalenka in three sets. It worked out for Sabalenka at the second attempt: The 26-year-old from Belarus defeated Jessica Pegula from the USA 7:5, 7:5 in a dramatic final on Saturday. The 30-year-old billionaire's daughter reached the final of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time in her career, while it was Sabalenka's third triumph after her victories in the finals at the Australian Open in 2023 and 2024.  

The Belarusian won a record prize money of 3.6 million dollars!
